Who am I?
My name is Ona Korpiranta and I’m a director and playwright. I graduated from the BA/MA Directing program of the Theatre Academy of the University of the Arts Helsinki in June 2021. New plays and modern drama are close to my heart. I hope to work diversely in the field of performing arts and continue to write my own texts for theatre stages. My debut play Sinä päivänä kun Luoja teki isän was selected to the official programme of Tampere Theatre Festival in 2020 and 2021.

The performance is a bitingly funny and touching play about missing your father and trying to love someone. Dad walked out when Moona was just a little girl. Since then she and Mom have been stuck between the local Pentacostal church and a criminal gang.

LEIPÄKORIN MUOTOINEN TYTTÖ
Leipäkorin muotoinen tyttö is about the need to be acknowledged by others, the role of parenting and eating disorder. It is a coming of age story about a young woman Johanna who asks herself: “Why did I start to suffer from an eating disorder?”.
