Who am I?

My name is Ona Korpiranta and I’m a director and playwright. I graduated from the BA/MA Directing program of the Theatre Academy of the University of the Arts Helsinki in June 2021. New plays and modern drama are close to my heart. I hope to work diversely in the field of performing arts and continue to write my own texts for theatre stages. My debut play Sinä päivänä kun Luoja teki isän was selected to the official programme of Tampere Theatre Festival in 2020 and 2021.

  • SEITSEMÄN TARINAA HÄPEÄSTÄ

Young police officer Agla (Isla Mustanoja) barges into a psychiatrist’s (Juho Milonoff) session in the middle of seeing another patient. She demands medication. A lot of it. She’s experienced something awful and just wants to sleep and forget. But the psychiatrist doesn’t let her off that easily—he claims to have found a method to cure shame completely.

The performance is a bitingly funny and touching play about missing your father and trying to love someone. Dad walked out when Moona was just a little girl. Since then she and Mom have been stuck between the local Pentacostal church and a criminal gang.
